What is Hip Dislocation?
A hip dislocation is a condition that involves the movement of the ball portion of the hip joint out of its groove. Our hip joint is made up of a femoral head and the pelvic acetabulum. The anatomy of this joint makes it a type of ball and socket joint. Here, the head of the femur is the ball, and the acetabulum in the pelvis is the socket. The ball of the hip joint fits in the socket.
