Sony has plans that are ambitious for its next generation of virtual reality hardware with plans two million of the PSVR 2 headset ready by March of next year FIFA 23 coins.
The mass production of the virtual reality headset began in September (via Bloomberg) and has not yet encountered issues with its supply chain. With the PS5 being extremely popular because of its limited availability after its release in November 2020, Sony plans to also have additional consoles on the shelves in early 2023 according to Bloomberg's sources.
PSVR 2 isn't yet set to receive a release date that extends beyond 2023. Sony is working to ensure that they have enough PS5 consoles that can play games on the brand new headset. The hardware is only compatible on PS5 and will not be compatible with backward-compatible PSVR games.
What we do know about the hardware is that it comes with incredible specifications. Like it's predecessor the PS5 as well as its DualSense controller Sony is incorporating haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, eye-tracking with inside-out tracking in addition to 3D stereo into the system, however, it's not yet released a final retail price.
"PSVR 2 feels poised to be an inspiration for gaming space," Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot's PSVR 2 preview. "It remains to be seen if PSVR 2 will attract a wide interest, but at the most basic level, I'm convinced that it'll bring us one step closer in achieving its full potential."
