These practices, though sometimes faced with opposition are now commonplace  D2R Items within the overall industry. One could argue that prevalence of loot boxes or other real-money transactions within AAA games have been a factor in this market that is a predatory one, but the more that AAA gaming shifts towards the games-as-service model more, the more it has to do with portable games which have existed within this very popular sector for more than a decade.
