As a result of wear & tear in the cartilage, the joint becomes painful. Along with this, stiffness, tenderness, and reduced mobility of the joint are also on the cards. -
Osteoarthritis
-
Traumatic arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis
Treatment – Arthritis has no cure. The treatment is provided to improve associated symptoms Options available include medicines to curb pain & inflammation, rest, physical therapy, and surgery if required.
Inflamed Tendons

Trochanteric Bursitis
Inflammation of the bursa present near the hip joint is known as trochanteric bursitis. Bursae are fluid-filled sacs that reduce friction in the joints. As a result of inflammation, the condition causes pain in the hip joint while affecting the ability of the person to walk, sit, or stand. The factors that may cause trochanteric bursitis include overuse of the hip joint, injury, or postural issues.
Treatment - The treatment of trochanteric bursitis may include the use of NSAIDs or corticosteroid injections to improve pain and inflammation. Physical therapy may improve the range of motion and surgery may be recommended if nothing else work.
Hip Fractures
Hip fractures cause severe pain in the hip and if immediate treatment is not provided, other complications may occur. People above 50 and those suffering from osteoporosis are highly prone to developing hip fractures. Such conditions also make the person unable to stand or walk until feasible treatment is provided.
Treatment – Most cases of hip fractures require surgical intervention using orthopedic implants. Besides this, physical therapy is also recommended to improve the range of motion.
