Step 1: Logging as Administrator
- After turning on your computer, log in as the administrator.
- Right-click on the QuickBooks icon and choose the Run as administrator from the menu.
Step 2: Update QuickBooks
- First, you should close any programs that are running, including QuickBooks.
- Right-click the QuickBooks icon and choose the option to run the program as an administrator.
- At this point, you have to hold down the Ctrl key. But keep holding down the Ctrl key even after the No company open window comes up.
- Go to Help in the QuickBooks software and then choose the option to Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Next, go to Options and choose Reset Updates after you have checked Mark All.
- Then, you can start the update process by clicking Get Updates.
- Now close QuickBooks, then reopen it so the changes can take effect.
