Basketball is one of the most played games in the world. The game of basketball has given us many legends like Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and my favorite, James Harden. However, not everyone knows about basketball. If you are one of those who don't know about basketball, don't worry, I got you. In this article, we will learn how many people  on a basketball team and other interesting facts about basketball.

The Answer to how many people are on a basketball team is 5. Yes, every team has five players. There are five positions: Point guard, Shooting Guard, Power forward, Center, and Small Forward. The Point Guard is the floor general of the team. The shooting Guard is mostly the best shooter and scorer on the team. Power Forward plays defense and collects rebounds. Small Forward can mostly do all things on the court, like defense and Offense. Lastly, the Center is the biggest guy on the team who plays defense and collects the most rebounds. Now, let's look at all basketball positions in detail.

Basketball Positions:

Point Guard: He is the smallest guy on the court. He plays the role of floor general and controls all the Offenses. A Point Guard should be able to see all the sneaky passes and open shooters. The point guard gets the most assists on the team. If you wanna be a great point guard, also be a great scorer and shooter.

Shooting Guard: He is not the biggest guy, but he is bigger than Point Guard. He is the best scorer on the team. The current is a great NBA shooting guard who gets 20 points easily. Some of the best shooting guards in the NBA are James Harden, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Dwayne Wade. 

Small Forward: He is not the biggest but the most versatile player on the court. He can do all the things on the court, including Defense, Scoring Points, shooting threes, and open shots. Some of the best small forwards in the NBA are Lebron James, Patrick Ewing, Kawai Leonard, and Kevin Durant.

Power Forward: He is longer than Center. He plays post-defense with Center. Most of the power forwards don't score points from out of the 3-point line, but some do. Some legendary Power forwards have scored more than 25 points per game. Some of the best power forwards in the NBA are Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley, Dirk Nowitzki, and Dennis Rodman.

Center: The Biggest guy on the team and the guy who gets the most rebounds and does post-defense. He also protects the rim and blocks shots. Most Centers in the current NBA are taller than 7 feet. Some of the best centers in the NBA are Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Wilt Chamberlin.
